The Blue Obsession Continues.

Well this is the view from the window at work, what a beautiful day out there! I am longing for when the clock hits 1 o'clock and I can race outside and do a spot of sunbathing in Cavendish Park.
The sky today is continuing my obsession with blue, so I thought I would show you how my chair is coming together along with what I have been doing since my last post.

My Chair, Ready For It's Final Touches This Weekend.

Last weekend I bought a sander and I can tell you it is one of the best purchases of my year! Good bye sandpaper and soar hands, and hello finished chair. It took me only a morning to clean off all of the old varnish that had bubbled over the surface, now it is on its way to having a new lease of life. I placed the material over the chair so I could get a feel of what it would eventually become before the final unveiling later this month. So far I am pretty excited.

In my pursue for blue I have ventured onto a few of my favorite websites to gather some inspiration!
Featured below is another beautiful chair created by Hickey and Dobson (do take a look at her website www.hickeyanddobson.com). That golden wood against the generous amount of blue fabric is so rich with colour, I just adore it!

A Beautiful Blue Chair By Hickey And Dobson.

The Hickey and Dobson chair has spurred me on, I must get cracking on my two other chairs before I start my other commissions; I seem to have so many ideas in mind. I decided that gathering a few samples together would be the way to curb any extreme furniture collecting before I have the materials. So obviously sticking the the blue theme I picked up a couple of samples and then impulsively bought 'Javan Dawn 5' Pictured below (I fear my frivolous side will always a resurface).

Colour Swatch Collecting!

My final treat of the week were some wonderful free samples from Korla, a relatively new design partnership. They create and manufacture original collections of colourful and contemporary textiles. Customers can also buy made-to-measure curtains and blinds and some fantastic bespoke home accessories. And here is a little preview of what they create. I simply cannot decide which sample I prefer the most, I may even have to order a few (containing blue obviously).

Hmmm... Perhaps My Next Chair Could BE Orange?

Their website offers some brilliant idea for your home, I borrowed a few of their pictures for you to peruse. Do take a look at their blog www.korlahome.com/blog for other ideas.
