A Bit of Blue.

Right now creating a room (my bedroom) that's invigorating when I  wake up but soothing when I want to relax or go to sleep, has got me thinking. Blue is the perfect choice, it provides the right shade and that extra exciting bit is when you can choose furniture and fabrics to complement.
I Like the idea of mixing up plains and patterns of different intensity for best effect. Blue and white gain a new freshness and this new Zara Blue Percale Bed Linen is the perfect example. Against a clean palette of white the symmetrical arrangement brings order to a small space.
A white background provides the best backdrop for your own designs. Two Images I have found that support this theory are from houzz.com. The first, positioned directly below the Zara Blue Percale Bed Linen Collection is from Laura Trevey, Editor of BB&B brightboldbeautiful.com, she has combined The Blue with a sumptuous Red creating an Eastern feel.

Moroccan Slim Cushion by Helen Rawlinson Featured on notonthehighstreet.com
The second position at the bottom of the page, again from the same website by Nina Jizhar, interior and textile designer. She has applied the bold pattern on a singular cushion suggesting a Moroccan theme…. following this train of thought I discovered a set of cushions entitled Moroccan Slim designed by Helen Rawlinson. Her designs are featured on www.notonthehighstreet.com so you can start creating your own Blue Bedroom now!
As a final note consider adding colour through collections. An idea is to start displaying pretty antiques. The little Pot I found at Portobello Market would look beautiful with a light directly overhead for all to see (also shown in situ from Laura Trevey’s Moroccan Bedroom).
