Styling
This blog is a homage to Sophie Robinson's blog and the book she is giving away. The book itself by Mary Norden & Polly Wreford is called Gathered. Both Mary and Polly have indulged themselves with this year long project, photographing flowers from Mary's garden that culminated in this self published book. Even the cover is beautiful (below) it's a coffee table book worthy of any living room.
I lifted a few images from the Gathered book to show their gorgeous work, from muted colours to vibrant shades in all different arrangements. The book itself is such an inspiration to stylists and it has certainly made an impression to Sophie Robinson in her blog. After reading her work and doing some internet exploring, I completely agree with many of Mary's statements in regards to Interior Design. Like her Interior Design does not interest me, but styling absolutely does! For me when making MatsonBailey chairs it is very important to style the products beautifully before selling.
So naturally I had a good look through Pinterest to see which pins featured more prominently for styling chairs. As all the pictures point out (below) dressing the chair so it looks as if it is in a home environment can give you a clear idea of how you can see the product you are buying in your home. But as usual it fueled more ideas and more chairs my end! As if I need anymore chairs. Anyway.. I have started taking some of my own photos, for instagram mainly but the styling still applies. I want all MatsonBailey products to be seen in the best way.
Here are some of my photos (below), they are certainly not award winning photography but it is a start. Obviously the pictures circulate around the chairs but there are the little things thrown in just for variety. So if you haven't seen them on instagram then enjoy the images below. (but do check out the instagram tab at the top of the page).
