Daybed Designs

Happy Monday everyone! I have just been having a rather grown up conversation with my friends as to whether marmite is delicious, or, the work of the devil. As a group we are incredibly philosophical, and we often debate the big topics facing us as adults approaching our 30s. So naturally the marmite subject was pretty important and it progressed to with or without cheese (complete winner for me). I'm sure by now you can sense a strong sarcastic tone. This is how relaxed my Monday has been so far, but with that in mind it has lead me to write this blog (which shares no parallel to marmite whatsoever) and keep up a positive attitude.

So, some of you may remember this beautiful Ercol Sofa bed that I loved making. If you don't, not to worry as there are photos above ha! (Obviously). I loved creating this piece and have been after a similar project since. I keep seeing these beautiful German sofa beds (below) and they look delicious and Im desperate to get my hands on one.

The one above is a prime example, the shape is simple and elegant and it would be a dream to style. Although I do need to make some space for more furniture. I am not sure what colours to use and because I have a collection of fabrics that I keep staring, although I don't think any of them are quite right.

As usual I have trawled through Pinterest to get some great inspiration. I seriously live on that place (and Instagram of course!) These images show the ideas I am reaching for, and they are all very simple. I think because it is quite a difficult piece of furniture to place so it needs to be able to blend with any surroundings. Anyway that is enough of my ramblings, have a look at the photos and see if you can get a feel for my next project.
