Exeter Weekend.

This weekend was always going to be a little bit of a risk. I worriedly traveled down to Exeter with a threat of a storm lingering in the air. However As it turned out on the Friday the morning at least was incredibly nice (admittedly very windy!) So we all took a stroll down to Budleigh Salterton in a search for drift wood.

The reason for collecting the drift wood is my Grandfather is turning his hand at something else artistic. Probably after painting he wants a new challenge. So on visiting a Cafe aptly named 'The Scone Cafe' for the delicious scones, we came across these huge benches made from reclaimed wood.

Obligatory photo on the huge bench!

The following day I went to collect what will eventually be the New Orange Chair from Bridport. The place where it was being housed turned out to be a complete treasure trove, so naturally I had to drag my grandparents around the entire place!

These are the goodies from the weekend! After seeing all of those beautiful crockery my grandparents said they had something similar they were going to sell (They are downsizing to a New house) Of course I said YES! don't sell them I will love them. The second spoils of the beach trip was this wonderful piece of wood which I think I will eventually sand down and wax until its very smooth (it will add to my ever growing collecting of beach debris around the flat).

Now that my Grandparents are moving they are going through all of their bits and bobs and only keeping the essentials. Some of the photos she brought over to my Mother's for us all to look at were brilliant. There was a fantastic photo of my brother and I but I couldn't get a good image on my Iphone. However the photos below are at my parent's wedding in happier times and my Grandparents, how funny are they?

Keep a look out for the new chairs they will hopefully be finished by the end of the month! Have a good week everyone!
