A Weekend Away!
After the fun filled shenanigans of the Wedding, this weekend was spent relaxing by the beach soaking up a little inspiration for some chairs (but mostly for the fish and chips!). The Friday I visited my Grandparents who took me on 'A Mystery Tour' which consisted of a death bus ride over the cliffs of Plymouth, to a beautiful little village called Cawsand and then along to Kingsand. It was a beautiful quaint little place where everyone seemed to be happy enough to leave their front doors open and wonder down to the beach!
My Grandfather certainly took inspiration when were were at the beach, he even collected some of the sand and driftwood to complete his pieces. Take a look, they are just fantastic (we must all be very arty in my family!)
The following day we headed down to Sidmouth to meet up with my mother and had a good old stroll through the town and the beach. Only if we had brought a towel we could have gone for a paddle!
We had to have the obligatory Cream Tea whilst down in Devon, it would be a crime not too! And I didn't finish it despite going halves with my mother haha! Another flower I noticed that just popped up everywhere reminded me of the Designers Guild 'Pink Cassandra - Orchid' Fabric I recently used. They spring up like daisies around the coast, I think they are just lovely!
My last day by the sea we spent paddling, eating more cake and watching children crabbing, and oh my goodness they were big! The children were very brave picking them up, I stood firmly away from the buckets. It was such a relaxing weekend and I soaked up so much inspiration to start my commission and other chairs this month for my new collection. Watch this space.
