Brighton and Belgravia

Wow, I haven't written on here for so long now! So what better way than to get into the Christmassy mood with a festive blog. This weekend I spent in Brighton and Hove visiting my favourite places (I have become a creature of habit - possibly to the annoyance of my friends) I end up dragging them to the same places in search of tat and trinkets.

Every part of Brighton is beautiful, there is so much to look even in the smallest places along The Lanes. These lovely little pots above were displayed outside one of Brighton's may tea shops, that we walked past because we were off for a curry haha!

My friend's beautiful flat is situated in Hove which is not that far away at all from Brighton. They have the most wonderful little shops dotted around the area, one of which below. It is a cake shop called Treacle, and from the photo below their window is chock full of stuffed critters all looking very festive.

The second shop is called Keep it Vintage, which I absolutely have to visit every time I am in Hove. It has become a tradition. Everything in the shops is reflective with how I would love my home to be. We all aspire to live a certain way and this shop has so many unique and beautiful pieces, along with a calm palette with simple furniture. I LOVE IT!.

Here is a shot of the shop, I cannot tell you how much I adore it all. Although I am sure you are getting the idea.

The lady who owns the shop placed subtle Christmas decorations around the place, enough to give a festive effect and not an overblown kitsch atmosphere (although, I love a bit of classical Christmas paper).

I also had to get an obligatory shoe shot into the blog as these are the most beautiful things I have ever bought! Zebra stripe boots from whistles, I am beginning to fall in love with print again (but only for my clothes) this sadly hasn't extended too much to my interiors.

My friend pointed out these gorgeous little bird decorations, they are fabulously quirky. Even down to the squashed expressions on their assembled faces.

As I spoke earlier about tradition, I always buy something from the shop. Sadly one of my vases got accidentally broken this year it was my chance to buy a new one. In this instance I bought the small grey and white glazed beauty on the left hand side. It is going to look perfect with some flowers.

A blog about chairs wouldn't be the same if I didn't have at least one chair in it, and this one is simple and perfect. When I begin to build my dream home (still a pipe dream) I always liked the idea of have a single rocking chair next to a big bookcase. Although this does conjure up images of horror movies haha.

Moving on to some brighter Christmas colours, we all went had lunch at the breakfast club and everything was served in a fun American style even down to the cups. This one was a salted caramel shake.... it looked delicious!

As we are now back home in London today was Elizabeth Street Market day. and I am shamed to say the above photo was the only one I took as I got distracted but all of the Christmas goodness.

and one final fun photo with my friend wearing ridiculous but appropriate hats for the season. Merry Christmas and I hope you have all had a good start to the season. Keep your eye out for some new chairs and cushions coming soon.
