Day Trip to Whistable
I am from Kent so my day excursions aren't normally in that direction (unless I am visiting my friend behindthedoorat84 Emily ). However I drove through the small town the other week when visiting my father and I thought it looked so quaint. So we drove down early so we could have breakfast on the coast and enjoy the entire day.
Whitstable is one of those very sweet old fashioned places littered with sweet shops, blue houses, windy roads and big wooden sea defences along with a bunch of coffee shops and antique markets (which are obviously my favourite pastime). And I of course purchased a gorgeous French white linen blanket (pictured further down to place on my bed).
We did the typical thing of sitting on the beach buying and ice creams and watching the world go buy (and looking at people eating Oysters .... yuk!) business was booming for them! and given the size of the 'shell mountain' on the beach people couldn't get enough!
The silver lining about Whitstable is that the street names were London Street names, the main street being Oxford Street (lots of use of the word street in that sentence), I can't seem to get London out of my system.
But in Kent's defence you should head to the seaside before the weather completely changes and get some of that summer sea air, I hope my pictures will convince you.
