Birthday Weekend

As usual I have taken an age to get around to writing my blog. This post however is very special. It was my birthday a few weeks ago (I am sure you saw from my many Instagram posts ha!) My wonderful other half booked a surprise weekend away in Cornwall (which I think was well needed for both of us). I don't really give him enough credit when he helps me with all my projects, work or life in general but this weekend was perfect and I love him very much for organising the holiday.

We were staying very close to St Ives in an old converted School house owned by a very sweet lady who made us scones! and who doesn't like a scone. The entire town was so twee and quiet but the local pubs were full of crazy locals arguing with each other (in a hilarious way - we weren't in danger at any point). On two occasions we were party to two couples arguing and the poor barmen had to try and look anywhere but the shouting pair. It certainly made our evenings interesting haha.

We spent the Sunday on the beach at St Ives, which was beautiful! We stood like proper tourists taking photos of our feet, the sand and the sea whilst the sun was beating down on our faces. The only unfortunate moment about the weekend was the Tate Gallery was closed for refurbishment, but I can hardly complain it was such a great day.

As you can see from all the picture the entire place was ridiculously quaint. The photo above looks like an image from the secret garden. If I could have moved the entire flat to London it would make the happiest person (but we all know that these idyllic places don't exist in the big smoke).

The holiday was wonderful and so well needed. I wish we could have stayed a little longer to relax and eat more Cornish pasties and ice cream. If you haven't been to this part of the world it is well worth a visit but you will need a car! I am feeling very relaxed and very loved after this get away, thank you xx
