Printed Botanicals

As you may remember from a previous blog we have acquired four gorgeous chairs that were in a bit of a state. The first two have been stripped of the old vinyl, sanded and cleaned with oil ready for some botanical fabric. Naturally I turned to Pinterest for some plant inspired ideas.

The florals, botanics and palm prints were in abundance but the two I have chosen to show you are Sanderson Living Rain Forest Fabric (Top Right) and a brand new fabric collaboration with Matthew Williamson for Osborne and Little (bottom Left). They are jam packed full of colour and pattern, so I absolutly have to use the fabric on one of the four chairs.

I have also taken inspiration from these gorgeous colourful chairs, not to mention the way in which the photo has been shot and their layout. The simple addition of a light and a plant can make the picture look 'complete' and depict an at home look and feel to each image. I want to achieve this when dressing my own chairs, I think when they stand alone it can look quite stark so by adding furniture the customer can visulise each product in situ.

I have seen this Sanderson fabric before on a blog that MatsonBailey follow called Hickey and Dobson. You can see just how bright and detailed the patterns can be, I might have to purchase some right now!

And here it is! My chair will be covered in this Sanderson Fern Fabric above, it isn't as bright and bold as the two above but I think it is a little subtler and should fit into any modern room. It reminds me of illustrations from old botanical books that my mother owns.

Anyway, that's all from me tonight. I will hopefully have some more chairs going up for sale at the end of February so keep a look out. Take care all x
