The Grass Is Always Greener.
Yesterday I had a walk to The Designers Guild Shop along Marylebone Highstreet for some inspiration to add to my ever growing list of ideas, fabric and not to mention chairs cluttering up my flat. When I walked in I was glad to see that green has started to feature heavily throughout the store, as I have just bought some beautiful Designers Guild Apple coloured Velvet. I took some cheeky photos of the most inspirational pieces for my new chairs.
There was even a velvet chair in the store, which was great to see!
Now let's get to the interesting bit. These chairs below are the ones I would love to get my hands on, they are from Germany and completely authentic 1950s Chairs. As they are Green already I think an updated fabric would bring the colour back to life. The Green I have chosen is a Designers Guild beauty called Varese - Apple a gorgeous rich velvet.
I want the chairs two have two types of fabric and the seats are quite likely to be the green velvet, I just need to decide on a complementing fabric. These are the two fabrics I have narrowed it down to, and I would rather feature the flower fabric simply because I am just dying to use it! Once the green fabric has arrived I will be able to make a better decision.
And to top everything off I also received a Cushion Commission using another Green Designers Guild Fabric. I am slowly finding green to a firm favourite of mine.
I will post all of my plans on Facebook so you can all see what I finally plan to do with the colours.
