A Bit More Of Lizzie B.

As the title suggests, here is an update on my friend's boat Lizzie B.

He has worked considerably hard and incredibly fast to create a warm 'at home' feel in his new boat. Producing the groundwork is often the hardest part (although I can only speak from and upholstery point of view) striping the walls of any marks and dents just so you are able to prime and paint takes a long time! But I genuinely think all his labour is paying off, as the photos below will prove.

Writing these blogs at times inspires me to work on my chairs immediately, but for now I'm going to enjoy the progress my friend is making with his creation.

I was so glad when he decided on the wooden blinds (after all it was ALL we seemed to speak about for weeks!) and he has fashioned some little hooks so they stay flush to the wall of the boat. He is turning into a rather good little handy man!

The sofa and floor from what I understand are staying for now. Now a good part of the work is completed, he has had a chance to live in the space and get a better idea of what he wants to do next!

I love the little kitchen, it is rather quaint don't you think? However the shelves above the work surface are a huge eyesore. The problem with removing them entirely would probably create more work than necessary, so the plan is to remove the lower shelf so it at least opens the area up much more (and still some storage space).

Another great transformation are the cupboards in the kitchen. My friend has chosen to paint two of the doors with chalk board paint, which is such fun! (Initially my idea haha) I didn't quite realise how quickly he would act upon it. And for the remaining doors he has chosen a beautiful dark charcoal colour, contrasted with this white bone china door handles from Zara Home.

I think you will agree he is doing himself proud! I will keep you all up to date with any other transformations, but for now I better get back to my chairs.

Have a good week x
