Canal Boat Lizzie B.

Canal's appear to be becoming more and more popular in London. They are now no longer a fun gaunt down stream but an affordable home for young Londoners. I now have several friends who own boats meandering around the big smoke, one of which is currently re-designing the interior of his boat 'Lizzie B'. It has a distinctive Rosey and Jim feeling to the outside but he has some great ideas to turn its dated fixtures and fittings into an urban bachelor pad.

My friend has kindly asked me to help him re-design the interior of the boat, so I have popped together a few mood boards to help him envisage a clear idea of what he wants to create (as he is rather indecisive).

Kitchen.

Living Room.

Bedroom.

It's such an exciting project, and I understand completely when he says he wants it done now! I always feel the same way about any chair I design.

We have spoken about blinds so much over the last week that my search engine has begun to generate pop ups of blinds in my browser.
The beginning is always the hardest part, just knowing what colours to use to build your idea.
He is using a good clean palette of grey and white, but I am hoping to convince him to add a big colour to make it warm as well as modern.

Blind samples have been ordered, and the picture below so far is a personal favorite because logistically it would be easier to fix and use inside the boat (as well as being aesthetically pleasing).

And here it is! The first pictures of the inside of the boat. Obviously not from the very beginning, but it is a very good start to his home. It is rather exciting and I am pleased to be part of this project. I will keep you updated with the boat as the interior progresses but for now I must get back to my chairs!

Hope you all have a lovely week, bye for now!
