Frieze In The Park.
This weekend was the Big Frieze Festival in Regents Park,
and I was rather excited as I haven't managed to visit for a few years.
Since
leaving University I often feel that I need to make more of an effort to visit exhibitions,
so this is me getting back to my Fine Art roots in a big way. It's an overwhelming
experience if you have not visited before (it's often busier than trying to
walk down Oxford Street on a Saturday afternoon- Nightmare!) However if you
are excited to see a wide variety of Art then it is a great day out!
This year the layout of the show seemed to be even more complicated than previous years, so finding my way around became a little tedious. In addition the Art on show I was not overly impressed by, but as always I did take some photos of my favourite exhibits and posted them below.
My taste in art has most certainly changed over the years; I
tend to lean much more towards sculpture (possibly why I have taken such an
interest with furniture). As a whole the show was incredibly vast and much more
commercial than I previously remember, however I still stand by my statement
earlier, I must make more of an effort to visit more shows just so I can form
a better opinion of what is current.
There will be more furniture and boat installments in the next few posts, so do keep your eyes peeled.
