A Furniture Flea and A Marathon.

It was so busy over the weekend, I feel like I need another couple of days off just to recover, however I enjoyed all the activities immensely. First off was the Vintage Furniture Flea in Bethnal Green. If you have not been I strongly advise you to go, even if it just for the cake (which obviously is delicious). There were some brilliant 1950/60s furniture, and if I could I would have bough the entire hall. There was one particular item, a rose painted magazine stand I really would have loved to have taken home with me if it was not for the SOLD sign. Nevertheless I still had a jolly time, and as I walked around some of the stands I recognized several objects that have definitely lived in my parents and indeed grandparents homes at some point or another.
I can't help but feel my childhood is probably creeping into the realms of retro .... I am getting old!

The second half of the weekend was spent walking the streets of London watching all those fantastic Marathon runners. To all of you well done, but my friend and I were there only for one amazing woman Kelly and her fiance Kyle. They were running in support of Cancer Research and I am pleased to say they both crossed the line in under 4 and 1/2 hours, a fantastic time and such a lovely day! Not surprisingly they have both taken today off to relax, a well deserved rest and a long soak in the bath. Well done guys!
