Butterflies and Boot Fairs.

Judy's Affordable Vintage Fair.

This weekend I had a few friends come to visit. Where would be free, full of delicious goodies and a wonderful place to shop. Judy's Spitalfields Market of course! There were plenty of vintage stalls comprising of clothing, furniture and food. I can only describe it as a retro treasure-trove right in the heart of the East. The Affordable Fair arrives the first weekend of every month, so do take a peak. Below are some of the wonderful items for sale.

Live Butterfly Exhibtion.

Since the weather had been holding out so beautifully this weekend, Sunday we decided The Live Butterfly Exhibition The Natural History Museum was definitely a must visit.
It was situated in the gardens rather than the Museum itself, and at a not to be sniffed at cost of £4.50 we also indulged ourselves with ice-cream until the next allocated viewing.
The butterfly house replicates the environment of the tropical homes of the butterflies. So the heat, humidity and light are strictly controlled and staff have been slowly increasing the temperature over the last few weeks to allow the plants, and staff, to get used to the hot conditions (so do wear a t-shirt underneath your jumpers... it was warm!)
There were so many tropical butterflies from all over the world in a variety of colours and sizes, we also managed to get a glimpse into hatchery windows and watch butterflies emerging from their chrysalis (so exciting and brilliant for young children) .I would strongly recommend an afternoon visit, it was great for the whole family or even big kids like myself, I was captivated by this wonderful scheme! Sensational Butterflies is on the Museum’s east lawn until the 11th September.
