1950s Plans

Well I have had a very productive few days, for starters I have purchased these beautiful and original 1950s chairs! I am so pleased with them, AND I got them for a bargain. At the moment they are on their merry way to London all the way from Germany. They are the real deal! My only issue is I love the colour of them already, I will just have to bite the bullet and give them a new updated look.

I have also bought this beautiful little stool which my Mother currently has abiding at her home in Devon. It was such a bargain I couldn't pass it up so I persuaded my family to collect it and keep in safe for me. I have big ideas for it already!

Now for the exciting bit, the fabric! I have discovered a Shop on Portobello Road called The Cloth Shop (does what is says on the tin) that sell these beautiful Linens. My plan is to keep the chairs as plain as possible but I just fell in love with this flower fabric below. If you like the pattern do visit their website at www.theclothshop.net.

Inspiration for the second chair has come in the form of these pictures below whilst I was on a Pinterest rampage! I think the second chair would look beautiful using similar fabrics, what do you think?

The pictures situated below are strong inspiration for the first chair, using a simple pattern can create a beautiful style AND don't you just love fabrics below!!

Unfortunately I have not been able to collect too much inspiration for the stool, the picture below is probably the only one that illustrates my idea clearly. I have a beautiful Blue and White Houndstooth patterned fabric from Designers Guild called 'Brera-Treccia' that will update the stool but still creating a clean 1950s look.

I have also ordered this fabric, which is coloured a deep Indigo Blue. This could also be the for the second chair, I am yet to decide on what will look better. I think until I see both the chair and the fabric I will be able to make a definite decision. This is also a Designers Guild Velvet Fabric called Castellani Ink, it is just luscious.

This fabric really does not have anything to do with either chair but I just love it! and I am itching to get my hands on it maybe to turn into a cushion or place it on a chair, who knows!
It is just one of my favorite fabrics from Designers guild called Rosenholm - Chartreuse.

Keep a look out for the next update of those 1950s chairs,..... so excited, Have a good weekend y'all!
