Marathon Sunday.
It was a beautiful day on Sunday, the perfect day for the Marathon which unfortunately I missed! Instead I took the bus all the way through Kensington and up to Notting Hill to find a small shop along Portobello Road. Before I arrived the bus ride took me past The Royal Albert Hall and the Memorial for Prince Albert that looks onto Kensington Palace, and I realized that London has some amazing architecture and History. I had recently fallen out of love with London because I had become accustomed to my disheartening daily routine, but venturing out of my usual commute I came across some beautiful sites which cheered me up immensely. Sadly my battery died on my camera so the only pictures I managed to take were inside the shop I was looking for and the beautiful streets in Notting Hill.
What a beautiful street in Notting Hill, the weather really does make a difference although I would still love one of the Homes! ..... However I digress, the real reason for my writing is this amazing shop 'The Cloth Shop' it is situated right at the end of Portobello Road. There was a wonderful little man who owns the shop who showed me so much fabric I really could have stayed there all day!
So naturally I had to take photos of inside the shop!
Just across the road was a little junk shop as well, so I had to pop in and have a look. The Furniture that was refurbished was not completely to my taste but the set up and colours in the shop were so attractive, I can see why the shop was attracting all the attention.
And finally, I have completed my sofa! I am very pleased with the finished piece and I will be putting it up for Sale today so do keep and eye out. This has been the biggest project so far and I think it has gone really rather well. Do take a look at the images below and if you just have to have it here is the link on www.ebay.co.uk/usr/stephanie-lane
